I think this is now the #2 craft beer behind Sam Adams Boston Lager.
I've really scored some of the the other Sierra Nevada brews highly (Celebration comes to mind), and I've got a bottle of this stored away. I'll let you know where I rank it when I get to it.
I actually love the Sierra nevada IPA. I think the pale ale is too water down for my liking. I think I gave the IPA a reaching for the star rating. Pale ale's should never be water down! Give me your rank when you get to it.
I got a little nervous when I saw "2 stars" on the Sierra, but would agree that the IPA stands up a bit better than the more mild PA. I agree with Lukas...the Celebration is a truly nice brew with only a subtle hint of the spices (nutmeg, cinnamon) that can typically overpower other seasonal ales. As for nationally marketed beers, I must say that Sierra is one of my favorites, particularly the Porter.
No bueno on the Sierra Nevada?
